I’m so excited about the release of my first Christmas novella, All That Glitters. I’d love for you to meet the characters, and to make it unique, we’re going to have a cookie party. Stop by each day to learn about a new character, their favorite cookie, and enter for a chance to win a prize.
For Release Day, meet Julia Metcalf. She’s a hard-working, single mother whose greatest priority is her son, Max. She’s not only the bookkeeper for Bella Cucina restaurant in Placerville, California, but she’s a part-time chef for the restaurant, as well. If you read Surrendered, Book 1 of the Apple Hill Series, you’ll remember Julia as Tess’s best friend and confidante.
Although Julia’s been betrayed by love in the past, she can’t help but envy Tess’s marriage to Jake. Just not enough to make the same mistake twice. So, she ignores her ever-increasing feelings for Marty and doubles down on parenting and work. What choice does she have, really, when she’s the only one Max can depend on?
In order to keep her going, Julia loves a jolt of caffeine, but she also has a discerning palate. This is why her favorite cookie is my original Mocha Walnut with dark chocolate rather than semi-sweet. It gives her the caffeine she needs and smoothness of dark chocolate she craves.
Like Christmas ornaments, good-looking men are all glitter and no substance. Right?
Julia Metcalf tries to be content with her life in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, despite secretly yearning for more. Raising her son as a single mom might be tough sometimes, but with friends, family, and a job she enjoys, Julia has a rich life. Risking her heart again—not a good idea. Especially with a guy like Marty.
The guy is too handsome and funny for his—or her—own good.
But when Julia’s ex-husband disappears and puts her and her son in danger, Marty steps in to help.
Sometimes what glitters truly is gold.
I hope you enjoyed meeting Julia Metcalf. Be sure to enter for a chance to win a $15 Amazon Gift Card. Click here to preorder your copy of All That Glitters for only $3.99. Along with this special price, you will receive Celebrate Lit’s Christmas Cookie Cookbook with original cookie recipes from Celebrate Lit authors and bloggers.
