This month, I had the pleasure of interviewing two previous guests of Between the Lines. It reminds me how quickly the days fly by when I realize I’m nearing the end of the second season with this podcast. I love it when authors come back to share another release with y’all. E.V. Sparrow (aka Erin) made her first appearance here on January 24th of this year. Christine goes back a little further—her first interview published on January 5, 2023.
Although both authors write historical fiction, their stories are worlds apart—or I should say eons apart. E.V.’s books take place post-Civil War and Christine’s during the Biblical era. I cannot imagine the amount of research these ladies had to delve into in order to make their stories come alive for their readers, but I’m sure when you read their novels, you will appreciate their unique talent and dedication to their craft.
Not many authors can create an entire series from her family’s background, but that’s exactly what E.V. Sparrow did. Her prelude novella to Those Resilient Muldoon’s Series, Muldoon’s Minnesota Darling, released several months ago. You can find it on her website or Amazon for only .99! On July 16th, the much-awaited Book 1, Muldoon’s Misfortunes, released. Order the ebook on Amazon or you can read it on Kindle Unlimited.
Visit E.V.’s website (link above) to learn more about her, connect, and/or sign up for her newsletter.
Here is the back cover blurb for Muldoon’s Misfortunes:
A cursed widower forsakes his faith to ensure his hope.
On a verdant island beset by poverty and death, Mick Muldoon dares to escape his misfortunes. Is working a farm and raising a family such an impossible thing to ask? Wasn’t God supposed to answer prayers—not turn a deaf ear?
After surviving the treacherous voyage to America, Mick discovers the rumors of ample opportunity aren’t exactly true. His defective body hampers employment and keeps him dependent upon his peculiar sister. However, an unexpected invitation to move to the heartland guarantees his dreams.
Mick’s own dreadful choices hamper his hopes when he accepts work as a widow’s farmhand. Unbeknownst to him, there’s deception afoot. Mick’s inattention to love causes catastrophe as single fatherhood cruelly shatters his family. Will God miraculously hear his prayers this time?
In Book 1 of Those Resilient Muldoons series, this misguided, wayward widower encounters God’s unexpected presence.
Christine Dillon is a prolific writer of both contemporary and Biblical era fiction as well as non-fiction. She is a hybrid author with both traditionally and indie published titles. I enjoyed discussing not only her newest book, Trust and Trickery, but also her twenty-year writing journey. So many tidbits of truth woven throughout this podcast, you will be blessed by listening to it.
You can connect with Christine on her website, StoryTellerChristine.com where you can read through all she has to offer her readers, as well as purchase her books. Although her books are available on Amazon, you will find a better price if you purchase directly from her.

Back cover blurb for Trust and Trickery:
Everyone he loves is about to be annihilated.
When Danel is suddenly orphaned, his childhood dream of becoming a warrior is lost in the relentless grind of running the family bakery. Prophecies that seem destined to come true when a vast army encamps on the borders of their lands. Who are these people and why does their god command them to wipe out everyone in Canaan?
The men of Danel’s city are proud of their fighting ability but it soon becomes clear that no battle can succeed against the god who conquered Pharaoh’s armies.
