Today we welcome Carole Towriss to my blog. Welcome Carole. Tell us about your most recent book.
My most recent book, Prize of War, tells the story of Acsah, daughter of Caleb. He promised her as a “prize” to the man who conquered the city of Debir. In September I’m releasing Deep Calling Deep. It’s part of “The Psalm Series,” with Brennan McPherson and Mesu Andrews who will release in July and August. We each were to choose a psalm and use it as inspiration for a novella. I’m also finishing up the first in a New Testament series. It’s based on Paul’s travels during his second missionary journey. The first book is about the prophesying slave girl and the jailer in Philippi.
Sounds like you’re very busy! What three things about you would surprise your readers?
First, I have four children and three of them are adopted from Kazakhstan.
Secondly, I love tacos.
And thirdly, I played ice hockey in high school—in San Diego.
What is your most difficult writing obstacle, and how do you overcome it?
Finding time! I just announce, “I have a deadline!” and they leave me alone. For a while. LOL
What are your recommendations for a great summer read?
Besides their novellas, the writers with me in The Psalm Series both have new books out. Mesu released Isaiah’s Daughter, and Brennan’s is Flood: The Story of Noah and the Family Who Raised Him.
Carole Towriss is an unapologetic Californian, who now lives just north of Washington, DC. She loves her husband, her four children, the beach, and tacos, though not always in that order. In addition to writing, she binge-watches British crime dramas and does the dishes at least four times a day!
