If all’s well with my technology, I should be flying across the U.S. when this is posted. I’m off to Indianapolis, Indiana for the ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) Conference. I whined about being fearful in Monday’s blog. I’ve been working through a new Bible study with some of the sweet ladies in my church–Jonah by Priscilla Shirer. Was I going to look at this an interruption (as Jonah did when he ran away from God’s assignment) or divine intervention?
So, I sat myself down and gave me a good talking to. Or maybe it was God giving me a good talking to. Either way, I realized my fear was a definite lack of faith. Rather than being excited about this opportunity, I focused on all the negative what ifs. Whatever happens, God’s in charge. The what ifs are His to work out, not mine. Who knows what this weekend will bring? If nothing else, it’s an opportunity for me to learn to rest in His mighty presence.
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
