It is Well with My Soul

If I asked you to name one person who has inspired thousands, maybe even millions, with a life shaped by tragedy, I have no doubt you could do it. Joni Earecksen Tada, Corrie ten Boom, Dietrick Bonhoeffer, Elisabeth Elliot, to name only a few. The list is endless. None of these people had an easy go of it, yet it was because they faced trials with courage and faith, we have examples of what that looks like beyond the heroes in the Bible.

I hope you enjoy the video I’m sharing for this post. More than that, I hope it inspires you, as it did me, to see how our response to tragedy (and in this case, tragedy upon tragedy) can have a ripple effect beyond comprehension. Had Horatio Spafford and his wife allowed Job-like afflictions to crush them, the world would be a little bleaker today.

And if you’re a Downton Abbey fan, like me, you’ll take pleasure in listening to the soothing voice of Hugh Bonneville as he narrates this 2019 Christmas concert.
