My favorite part of facilitating Between the Lines: Of Contemporary Christian Fiction is meeting new authors. Everyone has their unique writing journey, quirks, routines, and God-stories. It turns out that many of these authors write across genres, which means they may have a historical fiction/romance series as well as a contemporary one. This is why I’ve decided to not limit this podcast to only those who write contemporary Christian fiction.
You may recognize Shannon Sue Dunlap from a previous podcast. I highlighted her six months ago for a different book release. There have been some exciting new developments in her writing career, so I encourage you to take another listen.
Marguerite Martin Gray is a voracious writer (and reader) with such an interesting background. I was excited to chat with her about all that she’s been doing. Her newest release is a contemporary romance for Celebrate Lit’s Suamalie Island Series (which I’m now writing a novella for myself).
Shannon Sue Dunlap (AKA Shannon Kent) is a Christian contemporary fiction author. Her penchant for happy endings began early, and she was thrilled to find more of these in the fun and flirty world of Korean Dramas. Her trip to their beautiful homeland offered many colorful experiences that she included in her two stories for the My Korean Crush Series, Flower Boy Tour Guide and Reality Show Romance. She likes to share her opinions with fellow fans under the pen name Dramarookie at the Dramas with a Side of Kimchi blog. Shannon recently released book one of her Sweetheart Series Lonestar Sweetheart which we discussed in this episode. She describes it as a rom-com hilarious tale of small-town shenanigans, enemies to lovers, and witty banter.
