If you subscribe to my blog post, you may have gotten a couple of notifications this morning that something new has published. Well, I’m afraid I misled you. There is nothing more amazing than technology—until it doesn’t work! It may be time for me to bite the bullet, so to speak, and actually take some classes to learn more about WordPress, which is the software (if that’s the correct terminology) used to publish my website.
I’m attempting to attach the first scene of my new book, thus far titled Surrendered Hearts—a title I’m not satisfied with (I’m open to suggestions!) I added a pdf of this scene only to discover it’s not appearing quite like it should. So, bear with me while I work out the kinks. You can view it by clicking on the tab “Books” and then under Surrendered Hearts you can click to view the sample. However, unlike the samples of my other books (which my web designer set up for me) it takes you to yet another page where you must click to read the sample. Sorry folks. I’m hoping to have this figured out later today.
My second flub came when I attempted to imbed a video my father-in-law sent me. The reason for this was two-fold—it would have given me a much-needed break from writing a blog post today (as you can see, that didn’t work) and I wanted to imbue some frivolity into the lives of my readers. I don’t know about you, but with all the tragedy reported in the media lately, along with my own personal prayer list, I needed lose myself in something fun for a while. Unfortunately, Sony has put a restriction on the video, claiming rights to it. It was of a Catholic priest (in Ireland) singing a personal wedding song to a couple he was marrying using the tune from Lincoln Brewster’s Hallelujah. If you had the opportunity to see it while it was still available, you were blessed.
If you have time to check out the first scene of Surrendered Hearts, please do so and let me know what you think. It’s a completely different tone than my previous books, and the reason for that was posted last week when I guest blogged for ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers). If you have any suggestions for a different title, I would appreciate hearing about it. I can write a novel, no problem, but I struggle hugely with titles. Sometimes, it takes me longer to figure out a title for my blog posts than it does to actually write the post itself!

Hi Jen! Yes, saw the priest singing the Hallelujah chorus. I think he rather enjoyed himself. Funny!
Tried to read a sample of Surrendered Hearts but only the leave a comment window showed up. I’ll check out your other emails to see if the problem was fixed. Technology can be great yet SO frustrating.
